The Price
Vineyard is located in the heart of Dry Creek Valley, northwest of
Healdsburg. Muriel and
Steve Price
own this small vineyard nestled in gently rolling hills. This
elegant zinfandel
shows notes
of
cedar, strawberry, and pepper in the nose. As you taste the
wine, you will
become aware
of vanilla with
hints of smoke and rhubarb. The fruit finish
echoes the
strawberry aromas
present in the nose. This racy
zinfandel is a very food-friendly
wine!

The Treborce
Vineyard is located in the benchland on the
east side of Dry Creek Valley. Bob & Joyce
Littell own this
beautiful vineyard perched above the valley. This zinfandel
exhibits caramel and hints of
blackberry in the nose. It is a
structured wine and offers flavors of blueberry, coffee and cinnamon in
the
mouth. The flavors keep going with a long finish. The
Treborce zinfandel opens up and develops as it
sits in the glass.
What do you notice as the flavors evolve?

The Rhodes
Vineyard sits along the eastern edge of Redwood Valley in Mendocino
County, north of
Ukiah. We have been buying both zinfandel and petite sirah
from Annette & Richard Rhodes for a number
of years, so you may recognize the name and
the flavors in this wine. Those of you who are familiar with
our petite sirah
know that the fruit
from this vineyard produces a very flavorful wine that is not overly
tannic
like some
petite sirah we’ve tasted. At first whiff, you’ll find smoky,
toasted oak and
nutty vanilla.
This
inky wine is redolent with dark fruit: blackberry, Bing cherry, and
blueberry. While this
wine is not
overly tannic, it is well-structured, and won’t be confused with
a zinfandel.
There is tannin present with
all that fruit, and this combination gives the wine
a nice big, “chewy” mouth-feel. When the last sip is
gone, blueberry lingers in the long
finish.
Heart's
Fire Wine is unfined and unfiltered. You may find
some sediment in the neck of the
bottle when you
open it.
Filtering removes more than just sediment; it also removes
flavor.
We think the sediment in the bottle is worth it; we hope you will
agree.
Note: Case
discount also applies to mixed cases.
